Open Letter to President Trump on Military Base Victim Disarmament
Shared via email by WarOnGuns Correspondent CDT : Dear President Trump: This past Thursday, there was a spree shooting at Fort Stewart, exacerbated by the fact that none of the servicemen in a position to control the shooter were armed. I won't waste any language further describing the attack, I'm confident you're aware of it. There have been seven other spree shootings with this same profile since 2009, all made possible by President Clinton's ban on soldiers carrying arms inside military bases (DOD Directive 5210.56). There is no place in the USA for victim disarmament policies, but *especially* not on military bases. Back in 2015, you volunteered this pledge to Fredy Riehl of AmmoLand.com: "As Commander-in-Chief, I would mandate that soldiers remain armed and on alert at our military bases.
