(Flyer: Southern Colorado Patriots Club) With much of the news from Colorado regarding the right to keep and bear arms dominated by “progressive” political gun-grabbers who never met an infringement they weren’t bent on imposing, it’s easy to forget that much of the state is populated by “red” county voters who reject the control freak mentality exemplified by the Hickenlooper Blues . In the end, higher concentrations of collectivists in more densely-inhabited areas resulted in a narrow win for the Democrat governor. Still, it’s important not to lose sight of the fact that the political machine was not powerful enough to keep two Democrats (including the Senate president) from being recalled and another from resigning rather than face humiliation . April 20, 10:26 AM Gun Rights Examiner David Codrea I'm back from a rather exhausting past couple of days. I'll have time over the next few days to catch up on what the media is saying about the Second Amendment March and the Restore the Constitution rally, but for now I just wanted to share some of what I experienced. After a seven-hour drive, my son and I checked into the Sheraton National in Arlington. Nice digs. From our 8th-floor window we could see the Pentagon, and then across the river the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, the Capitol Dome...most impressive. Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images Pressure from Michael Bloomberg has caused the Aspen Institute and Grassroots TV to spike distribution of a video of his speech in which he advocated for cities to bar minority males up to age 25 from having guns, The Aspen Times reported Friday . The decision not to make the footage available for broadcast and distribution was made at the request of Bloomberg “representatives.” “He did not give a reason nor did we have any reason to ask for one,” Institute Chief External Affairs Officer” Jim Spiegelman offered by way of explanation. “We often feature speakers who prefer that their presentations not be videotaped.” That may be the case for some, but in Bloomberg’s case, he had to be aware that the program was being recorded.
