AzCDL Action Alert - SB 1177 & SB 1251

With a budget agreement reached in the state legislature, attention is finally returning to the bills that have been stalled for the last several months. We are happy to report that, thanks to your activism, both SB 1177 and SB 1251 are now on the Governor's desk awaiting his signature. The other bills we have been tracking remain on the AzCDL Action Center page. The Action Center includes pre-written e-mail messages that you can send to your Senator or Representatives as-is or you may customize them with your own comments.

On the Governor's desk:SB 1177 would require the Department of Public Safety to send a renewal reminder notice and renewal application to holders of concealed weapons permits at least 60 days before the expiration date of a permit. We have prepared an e-mail for you to send to the Governor encouraging him to sign SB 1177. You may send it as-is or customize it with your own comments.

SB 1251 would expand the definition of armed robbery to include situations where the perpetrator takes, or attempts to take, a deadly weapon from others at the scene.
