THANK YOU Tomorrow, as the chaos of Measure 114 continues to cripple gun stores, destroy Second Amendment rights, and confound buyers, dealers, and police, the Oregon State Police Firearms Background Check System will be… taking the day off. There are over 20 THOUSAND people waiting for a response that the State Police are required, by law, to provide in 30 minutes. As a result of this confusion and our pending lawsuit, we have been inundated with questions about firearms transfers and the current litigation. Unfortunately, we cannot answer most of these questions. There are just too many unknowns. And we are not alone. The State Police have no answers either. “OSP is currently working with our legal counsel to understand the impacts that BM114 will have on firearms transactions that were initiated prior to December 8th but are in a pending status. Once we understand how the new law will affect those pended transactions, we will communicate with both the individuals and the gun dealers where they initiated their purchase." We appreciate your patience as the fallout continues from the result of ignorant people voting for ballot measures they have not read and do not understand. As we move ahead we want to reassure you that we are doing all we can to put the brakes on Measure 114. Even as the mere threat of enactment of 114 is causing unimagined fear and concern about the end of businesses, the media and the promoters of 114 continue to lie nonstop about it. It is truly shameless. But, in the midst of this madness, we want to take a minute to say a very sincere thank you. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and while we won’t be taking the day off, we will be giving thanks for all the countless supporters who have given so generously to help us fight this. We are truly grateful.
