2024 Session Pre-Filing Underway

 

Happy New Year! With the start of 2024 upon us, the New Mexico Legislature is just weeks away from convening the 2024 Legislative Session. Pre-filing of proposed bills is now open, and the anti-gun and anti-freedom politicians have wasted no time in filing bills to attack our rights.2024 HB27 would amend New Mexico's "Extreme Risk Protection Order" gun confiscation law - which is entirely a civil order. The bill would expand the parties who can request an order to include law enforcement and health care providers. It also enables a judge to issue a search warrant for an order.This is just the first bill, but we are expecting many more. The governor has said she wants to push for a semi-automatic rifle ban, a magazine ban, a 14-day waiting period, and a bill to raise the age to purchase firearms.NMSSA will keep you updated on the latest from Santa Fe. FBI Director Candidate Wray’s Adopting Language of Left on Guns Merits Further Scrutiny

Will Wray swear an oath to enforce “commonsense” gun legislation or to “support and defend the Constitution”? (Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing/YouTube) July 13, 2017 Attorney Christopher Wray, President Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation, gave a response to a “gun control” question in Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that raises flags for right to keep and bear arms advocates.  Per The Daily Signal , Wray was being “pressed” by Sen.
