The Gun Control Blitz Has Begun

 

The attack on our rights is fully underway. Today, the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee passed the committee substitute bills for both HB27, the red-flag law expansion, and HB114, the bill to make it easy to sue firearm industry members in New Mexico. The bills were passed on party-line votes of 4-2. Both of the new bills are headed to the House Judiciary Committee where they could be heard this week.On Thursday 1/25, the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee will be hearing HB127, the under-21 gun ban, HB129, the house version of a 14 business day waiting period, and HB137, the semiautomatic rifle ban. The committee meeting is scheduled for 1:30pm in Room 317 (zoom link). Tomorrow 1/24, the Senate Rules Committee will be hearing SB5, the polling place gun ban at 8:00am in Room 321 (zoom link). Additionally, the Senate Health and Public Affairs Committee will be hearing SB69, the senate version of a 14 business day waiting period bill, after the afternoon senate floor session in Room 311 (zoom link).Also tomorrow 1/24, HB81, the gun safe tax credit bill, will be heard in the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee scheduled for 1:30pm in Room 317 (zoom link).In case you thought they were done filing bills to attack your rights, SJR12 was filed today. The proposed constitutional amendment would remove the preemption clause in the state constitution that bans counties and municipalities from passing their own gun control laws. FBI Director Candidate Wray’s Adopting Language of Left on Guns Merits Further Scrutiny

Will Wray swear an oath to enforce “commonsense” gun legislation or to “support and defend the Constitution”? (Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing/YouTube) July 13, 2017 Attorney Christopher Wray, President Donald Trump’s nominee to head the Federal Bureau of Investigation, gave a response to a “gun control” question in Wednesday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that raises flags for right to keep and bear arms advocates.  Per The Daily Signal , Wray was being “pressed” by Sen.
