Bank stiffing porn stars more than happy to service ATF

Chase Bank, a subsidiary of JP Morgan Chase, is closing the bank accounts of porn stars, Fox News reported Monday.

“A bank has got hundreds of porn stars hot and fired up after writing to them to tell them their bank accounts would be closed,” the report explains.

“I called them and they told me that because I am, I guess, public and am recognizable in the adult business, they’re closing my account,” porn star Teagan Presley reportedly told XBiz News.

Ordinarily, that would hardly be a concern of gun rights activists, except to note that discrimination against free choices, even those we may not agree with, leads to an inescapable Martin Niemöller realization that goes to the heart of why we own guns in the first place. And in this case, there’s a direct tie-in with “our” issue. As this column reported, JP Morgan offered Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives figure William McMahon, a key decision-maker in the Operation Fast and Furious “gunwalking” criminal enterprise, the opportunity to “double dip” while awaiting retirement (and no, that’s not an adult film industry term).

Why would they do that?

“J.P.Morgan has ATF's credit card account,” one source contacting this correspondent volunteered.

“I am looking at my card right now,” another source replied. “On the back, ‘The use of this card is governed by the cardholder agreement. This card is issued by JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. pursuant to a license by MasterCard International.’”

“In June 2007, the Office of Charge Card Management awarded the GSA SmartPay® 2 master contracts to Citibank, JP Morgan Chase, and U.S. Bank,” the General Services Administration website confirmed.

St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner Kurt Hofmann then informed his readers that JP Morgan Chase terminated the account of the Wiki Weapon Project’s company, Defense Distributed “without warning or explanation.”

Additionally, a related concern corroborating politically-motivated economic discrimination against legal businesses has surfaced. Kit Daniels at Infowars is reporting Eric Holder’s Department of Justice is now pressuring banks to refuse service to gun stores under the auspices of “Operation Choke Point.” That's a DOJ joint venture of sorts with the Federal Trade Commission and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, intended to stop fraud, but apparently lending itself to untold manipulation for political ends. That's resulted in serious questions about those unfairly choked, to the point that House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa, who also conducted the Fast and Furious hearings, has “argued that the DOJ is exercising prior restraint; that it's preventing businesses from functioning even when they haven't been proven by law to be doing anything wrong.”

“DOJ's 'Operation Choke Point' May Be Root of Porn Star Bank Account Closings,” Reason.com reported, adding further circumstantial speculation suggesting government manipulation behind what at first appear to be business decisions.

What’s unclear at this point, particularly if JP Morgan Chase really did disassociate itself from sex industry performers over concerns of what they do, is if the bank will also now shut off the card for ATF Houston Director of Industry Operations Russell Vanderwerf, arrested in a Metairie hotel after deputies discovered “The door had ... a circular hole padded with duct tape. The ... hole appeared to be used in some sort of sexual act [and a] front-desk staffer told authorities that she'd received a complaint from a hotel guest who said the door to that room had been propped open on the night of Nov. 30 and that she noticed several ‘young men’ entering and exiting. The guest also complained of hearing ‘sex noises’ coming from the room.”

The smart money says the noises probably weren’t coming from a pay-per-view Teagan Presley movie on TV, charged to the JP Morgan Chase card DIO Vanderwerf paid for his hotel room with.
