HERE WE GO AGAIN!

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares
hasn’t seen any unconstitutional gun-control
laws in Virginia that he isn’t willing to defend!

When Miyares was a candidate running for Attorney General, he talked a good game on the importance of gun rights and stopping unconstitutional gun-control.  We have the video to prove it.

He talked-the-talk, but he hasn’t walked-the-walk on Virginia gun-control laws since he was elected.

Here are four unconstitutional Virginia gun-control laws that VCDL and GOA have filed lawsuits to overturn. AG Miyares is DEFENDING all of them (just like Herring would have done), when Miyares has had opportunities not to do so!

  • Gun ban in rest stops
  • Gun ban in ABC stores
  • One handgun a month
  • Universal Background Checks

Here is a video of Miyares talking about the dangers of “gun-free zones,” yet he is defending gun-free zones in rest stops and ABC stores: https://youtu.be/Q2zU2QaRd1M?t=697

Miyares will have to argue that rest stops and ABC stores are “sensitive” government buildings, which is laughable.  If a government building is truly sensitive, it would have a contingent of armed security; controlled access points; and tight screening of all individuals entering the facility.

Here is a video of Miyares talking about his opposition to Universal Background Checks, a law which he calls “absurd” in the video: https://youtu.be/Q2zU2QaRd1M?t=1614

Jason Miyares has been a disappointment as Attorney General.  Is he better than Mark Herring would have been had Herring won instead?  Hell, yes.  Light-years better.  But Miyares has not lived up to what he should have been.  He has had many opportunities to stand up for the rights of Virginia’s gun owners and didn’t.  On top of the four laws, above, that he is inexplicably defending, he also chickened out on defining exactly where the “gun-free zone” boundaries are in a building that has a daycare or preschool in part of that building.  That is NOT standing up and protecting gun owners.

I hate voting for a candidate merely because he’s better than the other guy.  A toad would have been better than Herring.  I prefer statesmen who will go fight to protect our rights and not politicians who make promises that they have no intention of keeping.

ACTION ITEM #1

Click here to send a prewritten message to the Attorney General, telling him to STOP DEFENDING UNCONSTITUTIONAL GUN LAWS!  (Note: if you don’t want to provide a cellphone number, don’t check the box that says “Yes, sign me up to receive text alerts.”)

ACTION ITEM #2

If you have not yet contacted Governor Youngkin to veto the twenty-seven gun-control bills on his desk, there is still time to do so.

Click on this link to let Governor Youngkin know that you wish him to VETO those twenty-seven gun-control bills.
